She is committed to providing her patients with up-to-date surgical and nonsurgical treatments for pelvic floor disorders. She is well trained in surgical management of pelvic organ prolapse (with or without mesh), stress urinary incontinence (slings with or without mesh), overactive bladder and urge urinary incontinence (bladder Botox, sacral neuromodulation), fecal incontinence (sacral neuromodulation), genitourinary fistula, and vaginal mesh excision. She has extensive training in minimally invasive surgical modalities, including vaginal, laparoscopic, and robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery.

Dr. Metcalfe was born in Brazil and lived in France prior to moving to the United States with her family when she was young. She played competitive volleyball in high school, winning two back-to-back state championships as the captain for her team. She then attended the prestigious Bowdoin College in Maine, where she graduated with a degree in Biology and minor in Chemistry. Following her undergraduate studies, she worked as a research assistant at the University of Utah, where she achieved her Masters of Science in Laboratory Medicine and Biomedical Science. She then moved to Atlanta, where she continued performing basic science research at Emory University prior to attending medical school.

She completed medical school, residency in Gynecology & Obstetrics, and fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta. During her training, she received several teaching and surgical excellence awards. She has also authored multiple scientific papers, and presented her research at national and international meetings.

Outside of work, Dr. Metcalfe enjoys spending time with her husband, a Plastic Surgeon, and their kids. They love exploring the outdoors, trying new restaurants, and discovering new places.
